Read A Good Book

Relax and read a good book. There are many from which to chose. Of course, we at the Cortland Contrarian wouldn't bring up the subject if we didn't have a good book in mind. Try STRIKE by self-published author Joe Bakewell. The story is excellent, and you will remember the characters and the ending.
Here is the author's description of his book:

My latest novel, STRIKE, is now available in paperback as well as in all e-book formats. The story is set in Lawrence Massachusetts during the Bread & Roses Strike of 1912. It tells how two families, an Irish-American and an Italian, are forced to leave their homes, their jobs, and to start anew. Paddy Flanagan and Maria Petrella are thrown together by the strike and then torn apart; to reunite, they must struggle with prejudice, time, and an ocean.

The Lawrence textile strike, the first won by unskilled workers represented by a union (The IWW), is faithfully portrayed.

The ISBN is: 978-0-9718701-8-5 Note: the ISBNs for the paper back and e-book are different.

You can purchase the book from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or from me for $12.00 postpaid. Please note if you would like it signed and to whom.
