FOURTH, ETC., CONTINUED.
I’ve been
asked by several recipients of ‘The Fourth Estate’ not for clarification—they
get it—but for elaboration. Here it is:
We do not
have democracy.
We do not
have capitalism.
We do have
a corrupt government. Our politicians are fed by, motivated by, special
interest money. The money allows them to generate a constant flow of news? Attack.
Attack. Media eagerly lap it up. It’s free!
What to do?
I’ll keep it
simple:
Do not assume
that getting rid of Trump will fix anything. Our big problems did not start
with Trump, and they won’t end with him.
Do not make
matters worse by voting for ‘the lesser of two evils’. Use your ballot to
unequivocally vote against special interest corruption, or don’t vote at all.
For those needing
further information, reread ‘The Media’ and ‘A Perfect Storm’. Copies available
on request.
Meanwhile,
stop kidding yourself. The problem
is huge and hiding in plain sight. Until it’s eliminated, you can’t get at
inequality; the gross cost and poor results of healthcare; our lousy public
educational system, or whatever your favorite cause might be. Politicians only
listen long enough to gather news blaming the other side.
