IMPEACHMENT.
Getting rid of Trump won’t do. To be clear, this isn’t about Trump. From what I can tell, most Americans see Trump’s impeachment as justified, and I agree. Unfortunately, the result of his departure will not be a return to civility.
We will not suddenly find ourselves capable of discussing subjects about which we disagree in a respectful, even enjoyable way, because although Trump may have been the subject, even the cause, of many divisive discussions, he did not originate the underlying polarity.
What happened, before Trump showed up, to create such fertile ground for emotional partisanship? Was it Covid 19, putting everyone in a bad mood? Is it propaganda? Remember, it’s true if you agree with it.
Feel free to chime in. Who knows? Maybe a little thought will make a dent in the problem. But please don’t bore me with more Trump. Let’s move on.
