MONEY.
My friends, with whom I meet and correspond, are almost all academics, making common understanding on issues involving business difficult. This is unfortunate since much of what divides our nation involves money and where it comes from.
Our politicians seem to be deliberately ignorant given their focus on getting re- elected. Bill Clinton and the Bushes were exceptions, taken down by more skilled pols.
I predict that we will continue on our current path until something breaks, triggering a financial crisis.
