Large-flowered Trillium (Trillium
grandiflorum), Nodding Trillium, Painted Trillium and Purple Trillium are found
along the Lehigh Trail between Gracie Road and Lime Hollow Road at Lime Hollow
Center for Environment and Culture. These flowering plants bloom during the first week and second week
of May. Dutchman’s Breeches (Dicentra cucullaria), Spring Beauty (Claytonia
virginica) and a great variety of other wildflowers are also found along the trail.
Carry a camera and a small Audubon
Society field guide to identify wildflowers. Don’t miss the show.
