ANOTHER EINSTEIN
ELECTION.
Albert
Einstein once defined insanity as trying the same solution to a problem over
and over while expecting a different result.
Most of us do
this in every election. We vote for the lesser of two evils. "Yes", you say, "but it would be even worse if I didn’t vote this way."
Meanwhile,
the evidence and effects of corruption in DC are getting worse. Lobbyists now
write all regulations and legislation for our duly elected politicians to pass.
The politicians pass their time attacking the other party while enriching
themselves with special interest money.
I’ve given up
on suggesting that we use our ballots to protest, hoping that a ‘third party’
will notice. "We can’t waste our ballot," I’m told. "Suppose *^$#&@ is
elected (or reelected) by a narrow margin?" Gotcha! Catch 22. And on we go.
When will we
wise up and recognize that our votes are actually reinforcing the corruption
system that’s in place? Yes, voting for the lesser of two evils is a ‘win’ for
our corrupt politicians.
Come election
night, when the winners are announced, some will celebrate, others will cry
foul, but nothing will change.
